“What’s Happening @”
Role: Art Director
Scope: Content system design, visual identity, editorial storytelling, cross-functional and leadership collaboration
Overview
Co-led the development of “What’s Happening @”, an internal content channel designed to keep employees informed and connected through interviews, explainers, company news, and global stories from across Meta.
Partnered with leadership to create a scalable and engaging format that made internal communications more accessible, consistent, and culturally relevant.
The Challenge
Internal communications at scale can often feel fragmented or difficult to engage with, especially across a global organization.
The challenge was to create a system that could:
Consolidate diverse content into a clear and recognizable format
Make information more engaging and easy to consume
Support a wide range of content types—from quick updates to deeper storytelling
Maintain consistency while allowing flexibility for ongoing content needs
My Role
I partnered closely with another director to shape both the creative direction and system design:
Co-developed the visual identity and content framework for the channel
Defined how different content types (interviews, news, features) would be structured and presented
Collaborated with cross-functional teams to align on tone, format, and execution
Ensured consistency across ongoing content while allowing the system to scale
Key Contributions
Helped establish a scalable content system for ongoing internal storytelling
Created a flexible visual language that supported multiple content formats
Improved clarity and engagement by structuring content into more digestible formats
Strengthened alignment across teams contributing to the channel
Outcome
Launched a cohesive internal channel that made it easier for employees to stay informed and connected to what’s happening across the company.
The system enabled consistent, scalable content production while improving overall clarity and engagement.
Reflection
This project reinforced the importance of building systems that support ongoing communication, not just one-time moments.
By creating a clear and flexible framework, we were able to make internal storytelling more sustainable, accessible, and impactful over time.
