Facebook Gaming -
Creator Summit 2021
Role: Art Director
Scope: Creative direction, event branding, presentation design, cross-functional and creator alignment
Overview
Led creative direction for Facebook Gaming’s Creator Summit 2021—a virtual event designed to educate, support, and connect creators through product updates, best practices, and community-building.
The experience focused on delivering clear, valuable content while creating a cohesive and engaging environment for a global creator audience.
The Challenge
The summit brought together a wide range of content—from product updates to educational sessions—while operating in a fully virtual format.
The challenge was to:
Create a cohesive and professional identity for a multi-session event
Design for a virtual-first experience during COVID constraints
Ensure content was clear, digestible, and valuable for creators
Coordinate across internal teams, speakers, and creators globally
Maintain engagement across longer-form, information-heavy sessions
My Role
I led the creative direction of the summit, focusing on both clarity and alignment:
Defined the visual identity and tone for the event
Designed presentation systems that improved content clarity and consistency
Partnered with cross-functional teams and speakers to align on messaging
Helped guide execution across a distributed, virtual production environment
Key Contributions
Created a cohesive visual system across all sessions and content types
Elevated presentation design to improve clarity and engagement
Helped structure content in a way that was more accessible and actionable for creators
Supported alignment across teams and speakers in a remote setting
Outcome
Delivered a clear and engaging virtual summit experience that helped creators better understand platform tools, strategies, and opportunities.
The structured approach improved consistency across sessions and enabled more effective communication at scale.
Reflection
This project reinforced the importance of clarity in content-heavy environments.
When working with complex or educational material, strong creative direction helps ensure that information is not just delivered but understood and retained.
